HEROES- PART 1-24/1

for these few weeks, we are going to focus on some heroes found in the old testament.

so this week pastor shared about Abraham.

Romans 4:12: and he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

his past

1.the call
genesis 12:1-3
1-the lord have said to Abram, leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land i will show you.

2-i will make you into a great nation and i will bless you, i will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3-i will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you i will curse, and all people on earth will be blessed through you.

hebrews11:8-by faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

God's call today remains the same for you to follow and to faith.

2 the compromise
genesis 11:31-32
31-he took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter in law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. but when they came to Haran, they settled there.
32- Terah lived 205years, and he died in Haran.

3 the obidience
genesis 12:1-3
1-the lord have said to Abram, leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land i will show you.

2-i will make you into a great nation and i will bless you, i will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3-i will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you i will curse, and all people on earth will be blessed through you.

God's call to follow and to faith leads to
1.his presence
2.his provision-a new home, many decendents, great blessing abraham will be a blessing, protection from enemy, all the world will be blessed through him.

3.his purpose-the journey of a thousand miles begin with one step.

God's call to follow and to faith leads to his presence, provision and his purpose.
